Peter Evans brings to the 29th edition of Guimarães Jazz a double concert, divided in two very different musical approaches. Accompanied in both concerts by relevant musicians from the Portuguese jazz scene, the first group will be a duo with the drummer Gabriel Ferrandini and will presumably explore the territories of improvisation and post-free jazz predominant in the margins of the music of the third millennium; the second concert will be performed by a trio in which the trumpeter will be playing alongside with accordionist João Barradas and bassist Demian Cabaud, two important figures of Portuguese jazz who, given their solid musical identity, suggest the expectation of a performance more concretely framed within the canon of jazz’s tradition.
