The jam sessions are certainly one of the most identifying marks of Guimarães Jazz. It is this improvisational perspective that unveils the more informal nature of jazz, one that both allows the public to appreciate this musical form in a more direct way and brings audiences closer to the musicians. This year, the jam sessions at Convívio Cultural Association and the CCVF Café Concerto will be led by pianist and composer Ryan Cohan, who will be accompanied by a group of high-level musicians – the trumpeter Tito Carrillo, saxophonist Scott Burns, bassist Lorin Cohen and drummer George Fludas.
