Born in England in 1984, John Escreet is a pianist currently based in the United States of America, where he studied and where chose to pursue a career at the highest level of jazz that has so far proven to be prolific and distinguished. His recording debut as a leader occurred with the release, in 2008, of the album “Consequences”, in which he led a stellar group of instrumentalists: David Binney on saxophone, Ambrose Akinmusire on trumpet, Matt Brewer on bass and Tyshawn Sorey on drums. Since then, Escreet has maintained a steady rhythm of edition – always assisted by notable figures from the international jazz circuit –, while at the same time engaging in collaborations with influential contemporary jazz musicians, such as drummer Antonio Sánchez or trumpeter Alex Sipiagin. A highly creative and unpredictable, with a style oscillating between the classical tradition of swing and bebop on the one hand and, on the other, the harmonic and rhythmic freedom of avant-garde jazz, John Escreet also displays a proximity to the universe of electronic music, both in his compositional efforts and in collaboration with other artists, such as his recent partnership with producer and DJ Samuel Sheperd (a.k.a. Floating Points). In addition to Escreet’s strictly musical activity, it is also relevant to highlight this pianist and composer’s dedication as teacher at the Hancock Institute (Los Angeles) and in residency at several educational institutions all around the world.

Eric Revis (b. 1967) is a North-American bassist and composer whose career is marked by the collaboration with vocalist Betty Carter and by his artistic relationship with Brandford Marsalis, whose ensembles he regularly takes part in. An experienced musician, with a simultaneously melodic and percussive approach to the double-bass, Revis has collaborated over time with numerous important musicians of jazz’s classical and modern history, such as Steve Coleman or McCoy Tyner, and also develops a relevant work as leader, particularly within the scope of his own trios alongside Kris Davis, Andrew Cyrille and John Betsch.

A native of California and currently based in New York, Damion Reid (b. 1979) studied jazz under the tutorship of Billy Higgins and later graduated from the New England Conservatory, where he had Cecil McBee and George Russell, among other relevant musicians of the second half of the 20th century, as teachers. Despite his relative youth, Reid already presents a long curriculum of collaborations (with, among many others, Terence Blanchard, Cassandra Wilson, Lauryn Hill or Jason Moran) and an impressive discography as a member of other musicians’ projects, among which we may highlight the Dual Identity trio, co-led by Steve Lehman and Rudresh Mahanthappa.
